So far May is not matching up to April, but it is early days yet.

The slow steady rain was very welcome today, trickling down from the new shed roof collection system, topping up the polytunnel tank and then moving down to fill up the newt pond.  I was quite happy to tolerate frozen fingers.  Here are the temperatures for the first 36 hours of May:

The problem is, we were very spoilt by April:

A six-day dry spell at the start of the month and a ten-day one near the end.  Only one air frost.

Here are the averages and extremes:

31.5 mm of rain for the month.  Last year the Met Office recorded this for April:

78.7 mm of rain for Wales in April 2014, which was slightly less than than the long-term average.

I am sure May will get going soon; and also sure the climate anomalies will continue.
