Somewhere to sit, somewhere to sleep

If you would like somewhere to sit and contemplate then please do come here and try out some of these spots:

because we don’t seem to get round to sitting in any of them.  Now hedgehogs seem to be better at taking advantage of amenities than us.  Hedgehogs must have been quite happy round here before we arrived – no roads – no stress – lots of food and nesting spots.  But when we started putting out food, first there was one, then two and last night three feeding hedgehogs.  We also put out two hedgehog houses – why would they be used when we are surrounded by piles of brushwood and other hidey holes? When we surveyed them this evening this house

showed signs of habitation and an investigating hand into this one

was pricked.

Meanwhile this newt had migrated to a plant tray outside the house

and the neighbouring field has moved on to the next stage in reseeding

Goldcrests

seem to have very small territories.  We have two competitively singing within a few yards of the house and others scattered around within earshot.

The big hens

are fed up of their no treats worming schedule – only one more day to go.
