One swallow, with strawberries, does make a summer

This morning the nestling swallows took to the wing, circled round once or twice, and then had to have a rest on the shed roof

Later they decided to go back in the shed

and tonight they are tucked up in the nest again.

The redstarts are so elusive that they evade photography but have been seen bringing food into the nestbox.

The Meadow Browns have heard that The Bottom Field is now The Meadow and so have come flocking… in ones

but where there are twos there are eggs… and caterpillars… and pupae.. and more.

The canopy may be at its peak before descending into August fustiness
