After yesterday finding a battered Orange Tip, presumably overwintering in the polytunnel, we are thrilled today to spot a pristine specimen
which must have emerged this year.
We have not seen this species until now. Butterflies have been sadly absent from our plot over the last couple of years. One Red Admiral flapping around in various locations.
Down in the meadow
the Green-veined White has returned
But apart from that we can be measured by the Butterly Count
So today we put in an order
to try and improve the situation
This week Monty Don
talks about the situation when our greenhouse is full but there is nowhere to go.
We know how he feels
