Unseasonable Weather

February is the time of non-stop rain with flooded roads and fields, strong winds, and random hail showers.

So it was a bit of a surprise today when – for a few hours – the skies cleared, the wind dropped, and the sun shone down:

In other news, we have still been busy on eBay raising money to plant trees – hence less time for these jottings.

So far we have bought 600 tree and hedging plugs:

Blackthorn
Crab apple
Dog rose
Elder
Goat willow
Hawthorn
Hazel
Rowan
Sessile Oak
Silver Birch
Holly
Field Maple
Dogwood
Yew

which are due to go in the ground this week.

Sloughing the Past – Growing the Future

We have been quiet on these jottings recently. That is because keyboard time has been a bit taken over…

We have started shedding some of the objects that have accumulated over life and through this means turn them into trees.

This week we have ordered 360 trees from the Woodland Trust here

tree packs

and at the time of writing are 80% of the way to paying for them.

You can keep an eye on what we are selling here (which may well include items of interest to those in our former location!)

As well as buying trees we are going to use these funds to include local help in planting them.

So Ciara may have taken away

but the stuff in the attic (not that we have an attic) will be turning into a forest for the future.
