And then the Sun shone…

After the wind

and the rain

of the last two weeks we had forgotten what the sun looked like.

Fortunately it had not forgotten us

Our storm precautions looked dated

and bees were venturing forth, looking for the hearts of gold

The crocuses widened in anticipation

The snowdrops have been around for a while

but as other colours join in

we can convince ourselves

that Spring has Sprung

Rising Up

For a while our floral stimulation has been rather dry

But now things are emerging from below

Invisible and forgotten for most of the year, they rise up

Elsewhere life is also stirring

The cowslips

and primroses

have been around for a while, as have the dependable hellebores

and the first camillia

There is definitely something in the air
