The Cold Moon arrived
and brought mist and snow
but also Winter sunlight
like the ghost of summer
Remembrance of vegetables past
Lighting up flowers old…
…and new
Some of our Winter lodgers catch the sun
as do our more permanent residents
as their last Summer memory hangs by a thread
Some trees are thinking ahead
other plants looking back
When snow arrives
the hens are disconcerted
Ducks
are more stoic
So as we consider past
present
and future
We adopt the mentality of ducks
Love these photos and the theme.
Your photos-always exquisite, Beth, but exceptionally so this time.

Thank you. Does need the connecting words though. Lovely light today and yesterday. Love this time of year, if you don’t mind spending all day feeding the wild birds and keeping them watered.

Really poetic winter pictures. Enjoyed immensely by us up in The Pennines

Funny the things we miss……walls especially……..gritstone and limestone. Not many here. So much life on walls to photograph.
