Frost and Light

The Cold Moon arrived

IMG_6654

and brought mist and snow

IMG_6658

but also Winter sunlight

IMG_6619

like the ghost of summer

IMG_6617

Remembrance of vegetables past

IMG_6611

Lighting up flowers old…

IMG_6603

…and new

IMG_6602

Some of our Winter lodgers catch the sun

IMG_6608

as do our more permanent residents

IMG_6612

as their last Summer memory hangs by a thread

IMG_6616

Some trees are thinking ahead

IMG_6629

other plants looking back

When snow arrives

IMG_6660

the hens are disconcerted

Ducks

IMG_6649

are more stoic

So as we consider past

present

and future

We adopt the mentality of ducks

  1. Thank you. Does need the connecting words though. Lovely light today and yesterday. Love this time of year, if you don’t mind spending all day feeding the wild birds and keeping them watered.

  2. Funny the things we miss……walls especially……..gritstone and limestone. Not many here. So much life on walls to photograph.
