Now we are Welsh maybe we should pause and spend a moment thinking about St David (two days late).

His best-known miracle is said to have taken place when he was preaching in the middle of a large crowd at the Synod of Brefi. The ground on which he stood is reputed to have risen up to form a small hill. I like the modesty of that miracle, introducing a small hill into Wales is not ostentatious.

We don’t currently have any leeks to photograph to celebrate small hills so daffodils will have to do.
